Anel Valdivia is from Edinburg, Texas. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she was a member of the Contemporary and Fusion Pre-Professional Dance Company. Throughout her collegiate career, she performed in a diverse repertoire of contemporary works while developing her own artistic voice through performance and creative exploration. She has also shared her love of dance by teaching and working with young dancers in South Texas. Anel is excited to begin this next chapter as an artist with Social Movement Contemporary Dance Theater.
