ARTS EDUCATION
MOVE. CREATE. CONNECT. DISCOVER.
Professional dance artists. Meaningful learning. Programs designed to bring movement, culture, creativity, and connection into schools and communities.
A GROWING HISTORY OF ARTS EDUCATION
In 2021, SMCDT was awarded a grant to create Dance and Culture: A Lecture and Demonstration Series, a program combining physical dance practice with historical and cultural context. Since then, SMCDT's arts education work has reached more than 15 elementary, middle, and high schools and over 800 students in Houston ISD, with additional programming in Aldine ISD, Montgomery County, and Fort Worth ISD.

OUR PROGRAMS
Flexible experiences for elementary, middle, and high school learners.

This program was funded by the Arts Education Peer-to-Peer Mentorship (AEPPM) program through the BIPOC Arts Network & Fund.

SUPPORT ARTS EDUCATION
We believe arts education is an integral part of a well-rounded education. Through movement, creativity, cultural exploration, and collaboration, young people gain new ways to learn, express themselves, and connect with the world around them.
Your support helps SMCDT bring meaningful arts education experiences into schools and communities and expand access for the students we serve.
HELP US KEEP STUDENTS MOVING, CREATING, AND DISCOVERING.
OUR SUPPORTERS
We are grateful to the organizations and partners whose support helps make our artistic, educational, and community programs possible.

WITH GRATITUDE
We also gratefully acknowledge the individuals whose generosity helps sustain SMCDT and the communities we serve.
