Andrea "Dre" Minotti
My name is Andrea "Dre" Minotti. I am 19 years old and am an Italian- American raised in Houston,Tx. I'm bilingual and speak Italian fluently. I am an aspiring creative and hope to not only support myself and my family off of my art, but to also inspire others who are searching for the same light. I've been breakdancing since the age of 8 and am now looking to expand my knowledge of different styles. I also write poetry, I wrote a piece called "2020, A Vision" which was published through the HISD school district, and have experience in acting. I am young, ambitious, open minded and am ready to see what the world has in store for me.
Andrea "Dre" Minotti, is a 19-year-old
Italian American raised in Houston, Texas. Dre was introduced to the art of bboy at the age of 8, and is an ambitious creative who aims to inspire others through his art. In addition to dance, he wants to pursue acting and is a published poet. Dre spent time dancing with Inertia Dance Company and is excited about expanding his breadth of experience.
Michiko Sharpe is a 23-year-old breakdancer (b-girl) who began dancing in 9th grade after seeing a local group perform at her gymnastics gym. She joined Bellaire High School's eMotion Dance Company where she learned breaking from her classmates. She won several competitions with her school's dance company before graduating in 2015. While pursuing her B.A in communications at the University of Houston, Michiko had the opportunity to battle at competitions like RedBull BC One and perform for local schools as well as at the 2017 Super Bowl. Michiko is also a former elite trampolinist with 14 years of experience, where she obtained six national titles. Currently, Michiko is training with the hopes to represent the US at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games for breaking.
Jason Dang is a 27 year-old Vietnamese-American, born and raised in Houston, Texas. He has dedicated more than half of his life crafting his technique, artistry, and musicality in the Hip Hop/Breakin' culture. After graduating high school, he shared his passion by teaching in the Houston and surrounding areas. When he wasn't teaching, he traveled to perform and compete by himself or with his crew, The Brothers. He furthered his education at San Jacinto Community College (South Campus) and received an Associate of Arts in Dance. He joined a local Cirque/Circus Arts company that performs around Houston and honed his skill of one arm handstand balancing. After training, performing, and teaching one arm handstand balancing, he bridged his balancing passion from Breaking and Cirque arts to yoga and trained with Lex Gillian at The Yoga Institute. Dang holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Sam Houston State University.
Britney Lauren McGarity began dancing at the age of two at Dance Plus San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. She attended the North East School of the Arts (NESA) and trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. McGarity received her BFA in dance from Sam Houston State University and she has received scholarships to study at the Gus Giordano College/Pro Summer Intensive and the DanceWorks Chicago Dance 360 Intensive. McGarity has had the honor of performing the role of Marie in Dana Nicolay’s Wynne home Nutcracker, in addition, she has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center and Jacob’s Pillow.
Joel "Judo" Rivera
Joel Rivera has 20 years of experience in bboy, house, acrobatic and contemporary styles of movement. Highlighted performances include the 8th annual Folk Art Festival in China, Superbowl XXXVII/LI, MTV's Warp Tour, MTV's American's Best Dance Crew, Elijah A. Gibson's "The Black Card" and representing SHSU at Jacob's Pillow with Elijah Alhadji Gibson's "We Are Greenwood" and Jared Doster's "Umbilic" in 2016 and 2018. Teaching/advocating is Joel's passion. Gaining experience at the ERJCC, Youth Advocates, 5-year teaching track at Westside HS and Westbriar MS, B.C.D.F., Bailando International Dance Festival, and with American Voices:YESAcademy, where Joel taught master classes in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Ukraine. Graduating with his BFA from Sam Houston State University, Joel is continuing his artistic pursuit and following his passion as a dancer, teacher, and student.
