Devert Hickman

Devert is a Theatre Costume Designer, with a

prior twenty-year career with the performing arts.

He earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion

Design and is a graduate of the Advanced Theatre
Costume Design program at the Fashion Institute

of Design and Merchandising. He has traveled the
world while performing with Cirque du Soleil,

Radio City Music Hall Rockettes and Disney's, "The
Lion King". He is exceptional at his newly found

craftsmanship of costume design through film,
television and Theatrical stage productions. He

is most proud of the costumes designed for the
FIDM Debut 2020 production of the opera

“Turandot”. Devert possesses a quirky, yet

unique vision of portraying garments in ways

that are unimaginable to the naked eye. Most

recently, hewas commissioned to design costumes

for the “Social Movement Company Dance”. Devert holds the recognition of receiving the first “Black Design Collective” scholarship for notable African American students in 2019 in honor of Oscar Winning Costume Designer,” Ruth E. Carter.” Currently, Devert is Production Assistant within the Costume Department for the upcoming Netflix series “Monster”; Produced and directed by Emmy Award Winner Ryan Murphy. Based out of West Hollywood, California, Devert is always eager to seek
opportunities in creating an array of costume adventures throughout the world and beyond.
